International Conference on Borneo Sustainability 2026
As one of the activities between the Consortium of Universities of Borneo (KUUB) through Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), namely: International Conference on Borneo Sustainability 2025 (ICBS 2025)will take place for four days from 9 to 12 Sept 2025, aiming to provide a strategic academic platform, bringing together researchers, academia, and industry in an effort to strengthen global sustainability through innovation in science & technology, arts and social sciences, and medicine & natural sciences. This conference serves as a catalyst for collaboration between universities in Borneo and KUUB members, especially UMS, emphasizing innovative solutions to increasingly complex global challenges.

UMS Sustainability Impact Award
The UMS Sustainability Impact Award 2026 celebrates outstanding leadership and innovation in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) excellence across the university community, building on the transformative launch of the SDG-ESG Cluster in 2025. Introduced during the UMS Excellence Awards Ceremony, this initiative reflects UMS’s strategic commitment to embedding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its governance, policy frameworks, and institutional culture. The award recognises individuals, faculties, and centres that demonstrate exceptional contributions to environmental stewardship, social empowerment, and ethical governance, while the SDG-ESG Cluster serves as a central platform for aligning university operations with sustainability priorities and driving continuous improvement. Together with parallel efforts such as MyKompetensi 2.0 and the Leadership Talent Programme, the Sustainability Impact Award strengthens UMS’s mission to cultivate responsible leaders, enhance institutional accountability, and advance Malaysia’s sustainability agenda. This annual award underscores UMS’s role as a forward-thinking institution that champions SDG 4, 9, 13, 16, and 17—positioning the university as a regional leader in sustainable governance and impactful innovation.
